Tunç T. Evcimen was born in 1970 in Istanbul. He studied Mathematics Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. After receiving his master's degree in Organization and Business Policy from Istanbul University in 1997, he started his doctoral studies at Marmara University, Department of Management and Organization in the same year. In 2002, he received the title of Philosophy Doctor with his thesis on the thesis on the management of organizational dualities and paradoxes ”.
In 2003, he participated in the studies in Norwegian, Norvegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in the field of entrepreneurship development and business life research. As a guest lecturer at Evcimen Boğaziçi University, Istanbul Technical University and Air Force Academy, he has taught organizational creativity, innovation, business management and entrepreneurship courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, Evcimen's academic interests are the theory of researchers, strategic management, entrepreneurship and organization, which carries out strategy innovation programs for various senior executives in the executive development unit of Sabancı University.
Evcimen, who started business life in informatics, took system analysis, design and software development responsibilities in various studies, including international projects. Since 1997, he has been working as a management consultant at Arama Participatory Management Consulting. Within the scope of the management consultancy activities in the field of education, he carried out the zero design of Özyeğin University and the second term innovation of Sabancı University. In addition, with the strategy development projects of Anadolu University, Istanbul University, Yildiz Technical University, Siirt University, Yasar University and Ibn Haldun University, Robert College, TED Istanbul College, and Feyziye Schools have carried out the corporate development projects of Feyziye Schools.
Evcimen has worked for Turkey's Industry, Enterprise, e-Commerce, Tourism, Export, New Generation Textile, Vocational Education and Defence Industry Strategies. He has also taken part in many national projects such as Strategic Management Capacity in Public Administration, Ministry of Finance Strategic Plan, Constitutional Platform, Turkey Brand.
In the civil society sector, TOBB, Vehbi Koç Foundation, Sabancı Foundation, AÇEV, TİM, İTKİB, DEİK has carried out management consultancy projects that spread over the years. In addition, he made planning projects with Eskişehir, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Van Cities and Istka, Trakyaka, Brand Development Agencies.
He has completed organisational development and strategy projects for more than 500 companies such as Sabancı Holding, Turkish Airlines, Anadolu Group, Roketsan, Karsan, Akbank, Turkcell, Sony, Soyak, Pfizer, Tofaş, Türk Henkel, Fiat Auto, Hürriyet, Milliyet, Türk Ekonomi Bankası, Garanti Bankası, Teknosa and Pegasus. During this period, Evcimen has established two different 'start-ups' producing international projects in the field of environmental technologies, and after the companies reached a certain scale, they were exited. In 2023, Dr. Evcimen joined Sabancı University as the Director of the Action Research and Transformation Program, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.
Since 1994, Evcimen has been working in oil and acrylic painting and in 2006 he started to work in the field of photography. He participated in various 'masterclasses' with representatives of the Magnum Photos school. In this way, he has worked with world-class masters such as Abbas, Economopoulos, D'agata, Chang and Zackman. Photography projects in the Far East, India, America, Europe and Turkey realised.
Later, he started to work on long-term projects with curator Hasan Şenyüksel. She has a portfolio publication titled 'I am elsewhere' in the magazine edited by Ara Güler and an exhibition titled 'Stone'.
Since 2011, Evcimen has been conducting research on archaeology and art history related to Roman and Ancient civilisations and has documented more than 30,000 buildings and artefacts in more than 70 locations in the Mediterranean basin.
